Hi, my name’s Josh and I’m 11 years old. Last year, I read 10,000 pages from different books during the 40 days of Lent. I was amazed to raise over 6,000 pounds and get in the local newspaper 3 times!
This year, I’m going to double it. 20,000. But not pages read this time; words written. I’m going to write 20,000 words in the 40 days of Lent. I’ll write a short story or poem every day (average 500 words), and if you sponsor me, you can suggest a theme or starting point for my next story or poem. For example, you could ask for a poem about a volcano or a story about a boy who ate a magic sausage that turned him into a superhero. Just put it in the comments when you donate and I’ll make sure you get a copy.
You don’t have to give an idea – I’ll appreciate your sponsorship either way!
I’m going to update my blog every day, by putting up all my stories and poems. Here’s the link to my fundraising page if you would like to sponsor me: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JoshNazombe
I’m doing this as a personal challenge and to raise money for The SEED Project, which is a charity helping people in Zimbabwe to help themselves. So, instead of having people there all the time to do things for them: The SEED Project teaches them how to do it themselves.
